Open house to showcase EKISC efforts

The East Kootenay Invasive Species Council (EKISC) would like to invite you to our open house in Kimberley.

This is an opportunity for us to inform the public about our ongoing efforts in the area, collect feedback from the community, and thank those who are helping us stop the spread of invasive species in our community.

ekisc-posterThe open house is between 4 and 8 p.m. on September 22, with the staff from EKISC stationed at Kimberley’s Centennial Hall.

Doors to the open house open at 4 p.m. Beginning at 4:30, EKISC will open the event with a brief introduction of the council and our achievements so far in 2016.

We will deliver a short presentation of Kimberley, outlining more specific achievements in the area and what the next steps are. A brief session of how to use the Report-A-Weed app will be held just before we open up the floor to an Open Question period. The open Q&A session will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions of EKISC and partners. There will be door prizes drawn at 6:30, at the end of our formal presentations.

From 6:30 onward, we will serve food and drinks and guests will have an opportunity to view our educational displays, pinpoint areas of concern on an interactive map, and participate in games to win prizes.
