Prescribed Burn Walking Tour May 20

Join Kimberley’s Fire Chief Will Booth, Wildland Fire Ecologist Bob Gray and members of BC Wildfire Service for a one hour guided walk through the Levirs Avenue prescribed burn area in Kimberley Nature Park.

Meet at Swan Avenue entrance to the Kimberley Nature Park on Wednesday, May 20.

See firsthand how prescribed burning works, why it’s used to reduce wildfire risk, and how it helps keep our forests and community safer. You’ll also hear about upcoming fuel management projects and what they mean for Kimberley.

There will be two tours.

  • Tour 1: 10:15–11:15 a.m.
  • Tour 2: 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to join the easy walk;

Sturdy hiking footwear recommended.

Come learn how fire shapes our landscape—and why using fire carefully is part of protecting our community.
