More than 40 people joined in the Levirs area May 20 for the City of Kimberley’s guided prescribed burn walking tour with Fire Chief Will Booth and Wildland Fire Ecologist Bob Gray.

 It was great to see such strong interest in learning how we actively manage our forests and reduce wildfire risk in our community.

The tour offered a first-hand look at the Levirs prescribed burn area and helped explain why fire is an important tool for supporting healthier, more resilient ecosystems while helping protect Kimberley from severe wildfires.

Thank you to everyone who came out, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to learn more about this important work.
