Community celebrating appeal court decision August 12

Akisqnuk community and Jumbo Creek Conservation Society and Wildsight members are gathering for a potluck celebration of the BC Court of Appeal decision regarding Jumbo Glacier Resort.

The conservation groups and Akisqnuk celebration is about “community persistence and collaboration that has ensured Jumbo / Qat’Muk will stay wild,” an event invitation outlined.

“This is our time to celebrate together!”

The community potluck and gathering Monday, August 12 from 5:30 until 9 p.m.(ish) at the Akisqnuk Arbour, behind the Akisqnuk Band Hall (pictured).

Bring food and beverages to share for the potluck. This is an alcohol-free event. You also need to bring your own dishes, cutlery and serving utensils for your potluck item …and an instrument if you are so inclined!

This is an outdoor gathering, so dress for the weather. We will be there come rain, come heat.

Music will be provided by Bill Cropper and crew.
