Cranbrook Rodeo returns August 14-16
The Cranbrook Professional Rodeo returns August 14-16 for the 29th straight year.
Organizers are excited to get this yearâs event, held at the Wycliffe Rodeo Grounds, out of the chute as a record number of contestants are booked to compete and entertain.
âWe have an outstanding entry with contestants from as far away as Texas, New York, Ontario, Colorado, the Dakotas and many places in between. Including B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We have many Canadian, American and Calgary Stampede champions entered. The Saddle Bronc includes 33 past and future champions and is a record amount of contestants for our 29 years of rodeo,â reported rodeo co-organizer Dallas Mackie.

âWe also have Shelby Cummings back. She is an awesome trick rider, and also Dennis Halstead, a rodeo clown who is known all over North America,â Mackie added.
âIt is our 29th annual rodeo, completely organized and staffed by volunteers. The other very important feature is our sponsors, some of whom have been with us for the whole 29 years. Rodeo is a heritage sport and is interesting for everyone including the children of the families who attend,â she said.
Vold Rodeo Ltd. will once again provide the rough stock for the rodeo and Lazy B Timed Event, the steer wrestling and tie-down roping cattle.
Fans will also once again get to enjoy Wes Cummings as the Cranbrook Rodeo announcer.
A Rodeo Dance is set for Saturday evening and Sunday is again Children’s Day.
Concessions and a beer garden will also be available.
Cranbrook Rodeo is part of both the Duane Daines Saddle Bronc Series and the Kenton Randle Bareback Series.
