Skating club seeks sponsors for upcoming competition

Dear Community Businesses:

The North Star Skating Club is proud to host the East Kootenay Invitational Figure Skating Competition Nov. 28-Dec. 1 in Kimberley.

The skating competition will host 200-250 skaters and their families from the East and West Kootenay, Alberta and Montana. This will serve as an opportunity for our club and community to promote itself. We hope to see our community embrace the competition, as attendance at all the skating events is free. The competition will showcase the talents of figure skaters between four and 17 years of age.

Given that Kimberley has never held this event it is an exciting time for our club. We are hoping that your businesses will show their support by participating in one of the sponsorship opportunities:

Gold-$150 – will be given a full page to advertise their business in our program and will also be listed on all posters that will be placed throughout the community.

Silver-$100 – will be given a half page of advertising in our program.

Bronze-$75 – will be given a quarter page of advertising in our program.

As a sponsor your business will be promoted on all our advertising for this event. We will be using e-KNOW, Facebook, SNAP, our local papers and posters throughout the community to increase awareness and foster enthusiasm.

In addition we want to promote your business and community to the skaters and their families.  Each registered skater will receive a ‘Welcome to Kimberley’ bag. We ask that you provide a promotional item to be included. This could be a coupon, menu, contact information, brochure or other item. This is of no cost to you.

We are partnering with the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce in the collection of the promotional items for the bags. Promotional material can be left at the chamber office, 253 Wallinger Avenue, Kimberley.

The North Star Skating Club is a non-profit organization that provides ‘learn to skate’ programs such as Canskate, Canpowerskate and Figure Skating. Costs to take part are kept low through the diligent, hard work by our executive and volunteers. Funds raised from events such as these ensure we continue to make skating affordable to all. Currently NSSC has amongst the lowest registration fees in the province and in Canada.

We believe that learning to skate is a fundamental skill that transfers to many other sports. Our skaters go on to participate in skiing, speed skating and hockey as well as figure skating.

We sincerely hope you will see your partnership with us as a great opportunity to promote your business, support our club, community and event. The event will showcase our great community to the skating world!

If you have any questions, want to arrange pick up of material or participate as a sponsor contact Mike Guarnery at the chamber office. 250-487-3666, [email protected]
