August in the East Kootenay
What a month!
As evident from this scant collection of images, we weren’t exactly prolific with our cameras in August 2014.
It wasn’t due to a lack of interest; it was all about life happening.
Quickly, August was all about sweeping change and non-stop go-go-go for us.
The month began by completing a lengthy move and a whole shwack of renovations at our new home in Gold Creek, south of Cranbrook. That was followed by a nine-day honeymoon (55 weeks after the fact) on the Oregon and Northern California coast, which was laced with head and face pain thanks to a tooth that needed a darned good yanking. And when we returned home it was back to sorting out our new home and more renovations.
The few opportunities we had to get out and about were either hacked to bits by icky lighting and poor weather or muted by wildfire smoke.
The lead image this month, an aerial shot of Invermere and Lake Windermere comes courtesy of Windermere photographer Bram Rossman.
Other images are from: Cranbrook and area; Moyie Lake and area; Gold Creek, Teepee Creek and Sunset Forest Service Road areas; Elk Valley west of Fernie and Marysville.
And now onto September and its amazing colour changes and beautiful lighting. Can’t wait!
