September in the East Kootenay

September is a time of transition in the East Kootenay, as it is pretty much everywhere else that experiences the decline of summer and onset of autumn.

Kids go back to school, community groups fire back up, our highways have fewer mini-vans with foreign plates but more camper vans with elderly drivers and our always pleasant evenings suddenly become a tad cooler.

In some cases, we see snow falling and cringe, or cheer, depending on one’s appreciation of the white stuff.

Leaves begin to change colour – some seemingly overnight, others over a period of weeks.

All in all – September in the East Kootenay is a great time to be.

Featured in this month’s presentation are images from: a 50th birthday party in Cranbrook, as well as an 83rd birthday, a wedding at Fort Steele and images from around the Fort Steele area, Cranbrook, Kimberley, Fairmont Hot Springs, Akisqnuk/Windermere, Lakit Lake, Lazy Lake/Wasa, Radium Hot Springs and Tata Creek.
