What’s Up – Easter Daisy
By Larry Halverson
Friends of Kootenay
The Easter Daisy is just on time this year. In fact it is the earliest bloom date we have recorded for the Columbia Valley. The daisy like flower looks like it has no stem as it grows very low to the ground, seldom more than four cm high.
Look for it on the grassland hillsides in the southwest corner of Kootenay National Park and when you find it you’ll have spotted one of British Columbia’s rare and endangered plants.
