Ways to use battery powered mini-lights
Have you seen the battery powered LED fairy lights yet? They’re so tiny and cute and bright! These lights are LED and don’t generate much heat so they are safe to use in containers.
I bought two strings of these lights after Christmas and wanted to do something cool with them that I could enjoy year-round. I have a wire cloche that is very pretty but needed a little oomph to make it really special. I used mini grapevine vase fillers together with the lights to create a little lamp.
This project was so simple. I began searching the house for another object to turn into a lamp. Behold the tea-light boat lantern! As I mentioned, these lights are really tiny and it would have taken quite a few strings to fill this lantern. Instead I used a one-cup mason jar and wound the light string around my hand to distribute the lights evenly. I pushed the lights into the jar leaving the battery pack at the top of the jar for easy access to switch on and off. The jar fit nicely right on top of the tea light holder.
Two easy peasy, cute little lamps – great for creating ambiance or even to provide a safer source of light than candles during a power outage.
