Butler named to BC Chamber Board
Cranbrook’s Dave Butler, 2014 board chair of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, has joined the BC Chamber of Commerce 2016 – 2017 board of directors.
Butler was sworn in along with the balance of the board and chair Pat Giesbrecht on Monday, May 31 at the BC Chamber AGM and Conference in Kelowna.
“It’s a great honour to take on this role with B.C.’s largest business organization,” Butler said. “We have tremendous opportunities before us for 2016 – 2017 and beyond.”
Also sworn in as new or re-elected directors were:
- Tara Benham, Chartered Accountant, Hayes Stewart Little & Co.;
- Dave Butler, Director of Sustainability, Canadian Mountain Holidays;
- Aleece Laird, Partner, Fresh Inc.;
- Barinder Sidhu, Associate, Fasken Martineau LLP;
- Ken Veldman, Director, Public Affairs, Port of Prince Rupert;
- Joelle Westlund, Senior Advisor, Communica Public Affairs.

Maureen Kirkbride, BC Chamber interim CEO, congratulated the BC Chamber membership on its new board. “It’s great to see such strong, talented group guiding our organization forward,” Kirkbride said. “As an organization, we can be proud that besides having province-wide representation on our board, we have also again achieved gender parity.”
