Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) July 4 to 6 a.m., July 11.
The detachment received 148 calls for service throughout that period.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driving charge.
Six collisions: One minor collision between two vehicles resulting in minor damage to bumpers; one collision was the result of a drunk cyclist hitting a parked MV where the cyclist found himself in jail to sober out… he was not injured; One collision where a motorcycle went off the road after hitting loose gravel near Fort Steele– minor injuries; three collisions where vehicles struck deer.
Eight Mental Health Act calls – three apprehended.
Four thefts reported: three of these were shoplifting events and one complaint was regarding a rash of thefts at a local care home.
Four reports of property damage: One from a domestic dispute where an ex broke a cell phone; the ex was located, arrested and later released with charge of mischief to property pending. There was another report where vehicles in a parking lot in the 1900 block of 2nd Street South were vandalized.
