Full force out for impaired driving enforcement

Cranbrook RCMP members were out in full force this past weekend in support of the National Impaired Driving Enforcement Campaign.

Extra officers were brought in to assist with enhanced road checks throughout the detachment area.

The campaign included high visibility vehicle and foot patrols in the downtown area to deter impaired driving. Despite a significant increase in vehicle checks, only two people were issued prohibitions for driving under the influence of alcohol on December 3 itself. A 90-day immediate roadside prohibition was issued to an out-of-province driver and a 24-hour prohibition to a Cranbrook resident.

Cranbrook RCMP would like to commend the majority of our local drivers who make responsible decisions day in and day out.

Sgt Barry Graham, Cranbrook RCMP Operations NCO
