Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Dec. 19 to 6 a.m., Dec 26.

Police handled 135 calls for service throughout this week.

Among the calls police handled…

18 collisions: two in town/16 outside of town…weather being a major factor in these collisions.

Three Mental Health Act calls/ Along with four calls to assist to East Kootenay Regional Hospital with mental health patient – none apprehended

Three assault complaints: All domestic in nature related incidents

Nine thefts reported: including two shoplifting.

One theft of a vehicle – A good Samaritan picked up a male and female due to the cold and let them stay at the residence. The male and female woke up during the early morning hours, stole the vehicle which was later seized near Christina Lake.

One theft from vehicle…youths in custody.

Five other thefts: One was unfounded/ theft of cell phone / theft of Christmas lights/ unauthorized withdrawal from ATM/ theft of jacket from local gym.

One robbery from Esso Foot n Stuff.

One break and enter to a residence – A B&E to an UNLOCKED apartment where purse stolen.

One drug seizure – marijuana.

11 false alarms/ false 911 complaints

One person arrested for intoxication in public place.
