Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) March 27 to 6 a.m., April 3.

Police handled 153 calls for service throughout this week.

Among the calls police handled…

One impaired driver – alcohol.

Six collisions: four in town and two outside of town. Minor damage and/or minor injury.

One hit and run.

10 Mental Health Act calls – two apprehended.

Seven assault complaints: one domestic in nature where one person was arrested. Three persons charged in other assaults. No serious injuries reported.

Nine thefts reported: five shoplifting; one theft of a motor vehicle reported but recovered a short time later; one theft from a motor vehicle – wallet taken from unlocked vehicle; one other theft: unfounded…item misplaced; one report of bike theft – drunks took kid’s bike, police recovered it and returned to owner.

Four break and enter to residences. Two out of town where seasonal residence shed was broken into. Only items stolen were fire extinguisher/ socket set/ fishing rod. Two in town – both still under investigation and suspect identified. Charges pending.

One report of property damage: One in town where vehicle window damaged.

Three drug seizures – marijuana.

Nine false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
