Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) April 10 to 6 a.m., April 17.
Police handled 130 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Seven impaired drivers – alcohol and drugs (one in town and six at the Mud Bogs).
Three collisions – One in town and two outside of town involving wildlife.
One hit and run: The suspected driver was identified and charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
11 Mental Health Act calls – None apprehended/two assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Four assault complaints: two domestic in nature where one person was arrested in each event. Two other assault complaints that were the result of family fights.
Seven thefts reported: two shoplifting; two thefts of a motor vehicle reported: one was unfounded / one was a blue Yamaha 50 CC dirt bike stolen from a shed on 6th St South.
Three other thefts: possible theft from mailbox on Hidden Valley Road/ theft of an old transmission in Wycliffe and a theft of cash in town.
One report of bike theft.
One break and enter to a businesses: was unfounded.
One report of property damage: A&W building and sign vandalized.
