Permit required to park RV on vacant land

The Village of Canal Flats is reminding residents that a permit is required in order to park a recreational vehicle on private vacant property.

According to Zoning Bylaw No. 900, a recreational vehicle may not be located on private vacant property unless the owner holds a valid building permit for construction of a new dwelling unit or reconstruction of an existing dwelling unit, the village noted in a Facebook reminder.

Placement of an RV on vacant land is not permitted and a fine may be issued. For more information regarding placement of RVs on undeveloped property, please contact the village office at 250-349-5462.
