Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) March 26 to 6 a.m., April 4.
Police handled 162 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Five impaired driving: (alcohol).
Three collisions in the city: minor damage and/or minor injury. A driver was charged in two of three incidents under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Four assaults: Two domestic assaults; an assault by family member; and an assault where the victim and suspect were known to each other.
Six Mental Health Act related calls: one apprehension and two assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
13 thefts.
One shoplifting.
11 thefts from autos: A rash of attempts and thefts from motor vehicles in Cranbrook. A suspect was identified and has been charged for these thefts as well as a break and enter. The suspect is a local youth.
One theft other: Theft of cell phone, which was located and returned.
Four break and enters to residences: Suspect identified and charged in one B&E related to the thefts above. In a second B&E, suspects have been identified and charges are pending. One other B&E is still under investigation and another was unfounded.
One break and enter other: An attempted B&E to a garage and a toy hauler.
16 damage to property: A group of youths were breaking car windows; suspects have been identified and incidents are still being investigated.
