Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) April 23 to 6 a.m., April 30.
Police handled 141 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driving: (alcohol)
One collision in the city: minor property damage.
Two collisions outside the city: both minor but one resulted in an impaired driving investigation which further led to the driver being issued an immediate roadside suspension.
Two hit and run: parked vehicles hit.
Seven assaults: Four were domestic assaults resulting in arrests and pending charges. One was an assault at a local establishment; one was assault police by a male with a knife at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) over the last weekend and a security guard was assaulted by the same mental health patient two days earlier.
13 Mental Health Act related calls: three apprehensions; one assist EKRH; eight of these complaints originated from two different individuals.
Four thefts.
Two thefts from auto: Sunglasses stolen from unlocked vehicle/ theft of id… found at local business and returned to owner.
Five theft other: Theft of personal documents/ theft of building material from rural property/ internal business theft/ theft from mailbox/ theft of purse from apartment unit.
One break and enter to business: A vacant downtown establishment broken into, nothing stolen.
Two break and enter to residence: To a rural property but nothing stolen and the other was unfounded.
Two drug seizures: cocaine and heroin.
Eight false alarms and false 911 calls.
