Police release images of recent robbery suspect

Cranbrook RCMP is investigating two robberies that took place in the early morning hours of December 25 and 26, and a theft that occurred on the 24th.

Cranbrook RCMP responded to two separate robberies in the Cranbrook area over a 24-hour period. The first incident occurred at the 7-11 store on Cranbrook Street North where a male entered and demanded money and items.

The second incident occurred at the Prestige Hotel and Conference Centre, where the male entered and again demanded money. In both incidents the male made off with a small amount of cash.

While investigating these two incidents and canvassing other businesses, RCMP was advised that a theft of cigarettes had occurred at a business on Cranbrook St N.

RCMP determined these three incidents are related.

The male is described as 6′ 2″ tall, slender with light brown or reddish hair. He appeared unshaven. He was wearing a black hoodie with hood up in the first incident and a beige cammo hoodie with black ball cap in the second.

A white Mitsubishi Lancer is also a vehicle of interest in these robberies.

Cranbrook RCMP was able to obtain video footage from different businesses in the area and would like anyone who is able to identify the male or vehicle in the images to contact them at 250-489-3471.
