Betty and Hugh were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1948. Betty was the mother of two sons and a daughter; Laurie (Anne), Lennie (deceased) and Vicki (Peter); she, also, was a proud Nana “B” to Cassandra (Rory), Lucy and Isabel and 2 little GG’s Elora and Ewen.
Betty was involved in many community groups and was a strong advocate, both locally and provincially, for those who had developmental disabilities and sat on the board for the Endicott Centre in Creston. She was very active in the Red Cross, locally and provincially and was on the Infant Development Board, Kimberley Community Development Society (KCDS) and other organizations. For those who new Betty, she was a staunch Liberal and supported them through their ups and downs both provincially and federally. She represented this area at many Liberal Conventions and was a Federal candidate in two elections.

As was her wish, Betty was able to remain in her home until a couple of days before her passing with the support of Home Care.
