Prescribed fire possible in national park today
Kootenay National Park this afternoon tweeted an alert notifying of a possible prescribed burn today (April 24).
Parks Canada says fire crews will ignite a 27-hectare prescribed fire in the Sinclair restoration area today, weather permitting. Smoke may be visible from local communities and highways.
