College of the Rockies hosting International Day celebration
Community invited to enjoy cultural displays and performances
College of the Rockies will host a free International Day celebration on Wednesday, March 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the college gymnasium.
“This celebration provides an opportunity to showcase our cultural diversity at College of the Rockies,” said Wayne Lee-Ying, Manager, International Education. “We currently have students representing 31 countries attending the College. This event provides an opportunity for our community to enjoy cultural display booths and performances from around the world, and have a chance to chat with students about their cultures and experiences.”
Everyone who attends the International Day celebration will be provided with a “passport” which they can have stamped at each booth they visit. Completed passports will be entered for various prize draws.
Student performances will begin at 6 p.m. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided.
“Our international students enrich our college, and our communities,” Lee-Ying added. “Having an opportunity to learn about, and enjoy, their cultures right here in our own back yard is a luxury worth celebrating. We hope to see a lot of community members at this event.”
