The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) reports it has begun a tactical evacuation of the Caithness Mobile Home Park in the Galloway area due to a wildfire along the railway tracks.

Members of the RDEK’s South Country Fire Services are on scene, along with BC Wildfire crews and resources.

The RDEK is in the process of setting up an ESS Reception Centre.
