Kinder products recalled ahead of Easter
Heads up to folks who have already purchased Easter candy ahead of the weekend holiday.
Ferrero Canada Ltd. is recalling certain Kinder brand chocolate products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination.
This nation-wide recall was triggered by the company.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products in Canada.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency outlines that one should contact their doctor if they think may have become sick from a recalled product.
Additionally, it advises to check to see if you have the recalled products in your home; Do not consume the recalled products; and recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased
“Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis,” the Canadian Food Inspection Agency noted.
