Man found deceased after Wednesday night fire
On Wednesday night (July 29), Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fire alarm activation in an apartment building on the 500 block of Victoria Avenue North in Cranbrook.
On-duty firefighters arrived on scene to discover a contents fire in a single suite in the building. Firefighters made entry into the suite where the fire was extinguished.
The lone occupant of the suite, a mature male, sadly did not survive the incident.
Investigators were on scene Thursday (July 30) to determine cause and origin of the fire. At this time, the fire does not appear suspicious. However, the investigation is ongoing.
