East Kootenay COs seek info on dog and owners

The BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) is looking to identify a dog’s whereabouts, owner information, or address regarding an incident on December 31 ,2023.

The dog caused grievous injuries to a white-tailed deer resulting in its death on Pinyon Road in Sparwood.

It is an offence under the BC Wildlife Act to cause or allow a dog to pursue deer.

Description of the dog: 

White dog which appears to be the size of a lab, similar length of hair as a lab, beige ears and the beige color extends forward from the ears to the eyes but does not connect between the ears. The dog also has beige at the back of the rump including the very base of the tail, and a red collar at the time of the incident.

BCCOS explained the photos are quite grainy as they are from a video that was texted and downgraded significantly.
