Help needed in identifying accessibility barriers
Are you someone who has encountered barriers that have prevented you from fully participating in your community? Are you a friend or family member of someone who has?
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK), City of Cranbrook, District of Invermere and Village of Canal Flats have partnered on the creation of an East Kootenay Accessibility Plan that is aimed at identifying and removing barriers so that our communities can be accessible and inclusive for all.
The Accessibility Committee needs the public’s help in identifying barriers, accessibility challenges and successes in our communities.
To help gather that input, a public survey is open now through September 16.
To take the survey or learn more, visit https://engage.rdek.bc.ca/accessibility or contact the project lead Sandra Haley at the Regional District of East Kootenay at 1-888-478-7335 or 250-489-2791. She can also facilitate doing surveys by phone for those who may find that to be a more accessible option.
