Meet Not So Normal author Tom Symington Feb. 15

Art Gallery Kimberley is looking forward to hosting a book signing and meet-and-greet event with local author Tom Symington this Saturday, February 15, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Visitors are warmly invited to stop by the gallery to meet the author, discover his deeply personal memoir “Not So Normal,” and enjoy an inspiring time surrounded by local art.

In “Not So Normal,” Tom Symington shares his interesting coming-of-age journey, weaving together his experiences growing up in post-Second World War Alberta with the broader evolution of gay rights in Canada.

Through heartfelt storytelling, Tom explores themes of self-acceptance, resilience, and the ongoing fight for human rights, taking readers on a journey from Calgary to Sierra Leone, France, and beyond.

‘Not So Normal’ is as much a celebration of selfhood as it is a call to action,” says Tom. “It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and the work that still needs to be done.”

With a background in education, translation, and community advocacy, Tom has lived and worked around the world. He now calls the East Kootenay home, where he remains actively involved in environmental conservation and human rights initiatives.

Join us at Art Gallery Kimberley on February 15 to meet Tom, get a signed copy of Not So Normal, and engage in meaningful conversation. This event is free and open to the public.
