Invermere water system flushing begins April 14
The District of Invermere reports water flushing will be taking place on April 14 to May 26.
Water main flushing is the process of cleaning and clearing the water distribution system by flushing water through the pipes at high speeds. This helps remove any sediment, debris, or mineral buildup inside the pipes to maintain the quality of drinking water, the district explained on social media.
Water system flushing is necessary to improve water quality by removing sediment and deposits from pipes. To prevent discolored water, taste or odor issues. To ensure proper water flow and pressure and to prevent the buildup of minerals that could impact the infrastructure.
