Community clean-up April 26 in Invermere
Calling all Earth enthusiasts! Clean up your neighbourhood by collecting garbage around Lake Windermere or in your streets, parks or favourite outdoor spaces, and drop it off at the cleanup station at Kinsmen Beach for a chance to win great eco-friendly spot prizes donated by our local businesses.
Grand door prize is a two-night stay at a Radius Retreat Yurt, to be drawn at 1 p.m. Tasty treats and Kicking Horse Coffee will be provided, while supplies lasts.
Local organizations will have informational booths on how we can stand up for Mother Nature by making positive environmental impacts. Learn about protecting our waterways with Lake Windermere Ambassadors, saving food from going to waste, the District of Invermere’s new compost collection, and more.
If you’re outside of Invermere, send us a photo with the garbage you pick up in your area and you’ll also be entered into the Radius Retreat prize draw. Email [email protected] or post a photo on the Facebook event page before 1 p.m. on April 26.
Garbage bags and gloves can be picked up for free from Kootenay Savings Invermere branch anytime during business hours from April 22 to the 25, or from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Kinsmen Beach on April 26.
