Stage 3 water restrictions in effect May 31 for Fernie
The City of Fernie is implementing Stage 3 Water Restrictions effective noon, Saturday, May 31.
Damage at the Fairy Creek Water Reservoir caused by the storm on the evening of May 29 has necessitated the need to implement Stage 3 Water Restrictions at noon on Saturday, May 31.
Residents, businesses, and visitors are asked to help conserve water until restrictions are lifted.
Without reducing water usage, the reservoir may be depleted, and further damage could occur.
Stage 3 Water Restrictions include:
- For residential trees, shrubs, flowers and plants – watering is limited to a maximum of one hour per day on permitted days.
- Permitted days are Thursdays for Even number properties, and Tuesdays for Odd numbered properties.
- On your permitted day, watering is either in the morning between 6 and 8, OR, in the evening from 8 to 10.
- These restrictions do not apply to the watering of a vegetable garden or edible plants.
- Lawn watering is not permitted in Stage 3 Water Restrictions.
