Obituary of Edgar Kreuger
Ed’s life started with challenges. After losing both parents at a young age—his father in the war when he was just three, and his mother when he was six—he and his sister, Adina, made the journey to Canada. Along with a guardian, they arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before taking a train to Alberta, where they worked on a farm to get by.
Never one to shy away from hard work, Ed took on different jobs as he traveled through the northern region. His journey eventually led him to a job on a pipeline, bringing him to Creston—a place he quickly fell in love with and made his home. He dedicated much of his life to the logging industry and became a well-known figure in the area.
Outside of work, Ed had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always happiest out in nature. He also had a passion for playing pool and was known for his easygoing and friendly personality.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bev; his sister, Adina; and his daughter, Adina. He leaves behind his partner Betty McMahon, daughter, Trudy, and her husband, Howard, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ed touched the lives of so many, and his presence will be deeply missed.
