It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Harkness on May 28th, 2025 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Dale leaves to mourn his wife  Geraldine, his daughter Rhonda (Tod), son Alan (Zoe), grandson Tyler and sister Dianne  Harkness. He was predeceased by his parents George and Bernice Harkness.

Dale was born on November 14, 1949 in Trail, BC. He attended Spokane Community College for baking in 1970 where he met Geraldine.  They relocated to Grand Forks and Calgary before making their permanent home in Cranbrook. Dale retired from Safeway in 2011 and enjoyed gold panning in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to talk to anyone about  baseball, his regimented diet, exercise and his friendly sarcasm.

At Dale’s request there will not be a service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dale can be made to BC Cancer Agency.
