IFR respond to rollover on Horsethief FSR

On August 20, at 5:24 p.m., Invermere Fire Rescue (IFR) was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover with confirmed entrapment and ejections at the 41 km marker on the Horsethief Creek Forest Service Road (FSR).

Initial reports had the vehicle falling down a 200 feet embankment and as such a request was also made for Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) to attend as well.

Both agencies arrived on scene within minutes of each other, successfully and cooperatively extracted patients to the care and transport of BC Ambulance Service with assistance from Glacier Helicopters Invermere.

During the timeframe of this incident another MVI (Motor Vehicle Incident) was reported on Toby Creek Road, which had Invermere Fire standby crews responding and eventually stood down due to no entrapment of patients.
