Helmut Paul Koenigbauer

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helmut Paul Koenigbauer on August 17, 2025.

Helmut enjoyed life and liked to hunt, play soccer, and golf. He was a defenseman on a team in Germany that won the European Cup three times. After coming to Canada, Helmut continued to play soccer and eventually became a coach. Helmut also played quite a few charity golf tournaments. Helmut was a simple man but left his mark on all that knew him.

Helmut is survived by his sons Rick (Teri), Gary (Marcy), and James Koenigbauer, as well as granddaughters Cassidy and Taylor Koenigbauer.

He was predeceased by daughter Sandra, and son Karl.

A Celebration of Life has already taken place.
