Obituary of Anthony LATKA
Anthony “Tony” LATKA
Anthony (Tony) John Latka passed away peacefully at his home on September 11, 2025.
Tony was born in Natal, never wanting to leave, and this is where he set down his roots to raise his family on Michel Creek Road.
At a young age, in grade 8, his parents gave him the option to either go to work or move out (as he didn’t want to go to school) and he started his working career at Kaiser Resources Ltd. After that, he went to work at Kiki & Sons Transport driving truck, which took him to many places in the Canada and the US. He was a member of construction unions and worked in the construction industry at various locations.
His love for logging brought him to work with both his cousins, Andy and David Latka. He created two logging companies, one of which he still has today with his son, Joey.
Tony will always be remembered for his kindness, huge heart, love for the outdoors, his horses, and his friends and family. Tony will be remembered for his strength, independence, and devotion to both his family and his love of the bush. His unconditional love, life lessons and legacy will continue to live on through the hearts of people that knew him the most.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Shanna; son, Joey (Erica); nephew, Billy (Evelyn); grandchildren: Braiden, Carmyn, Kayda, and close friend and former spouse, Linda. He was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Joe Latka, and sister, Terry.
The Latka Family would like to thank the doctors, home care nurses, and home support workers and all the other medical personnel for all their care and attention given to Tony throughout his difficult journey. Thank you to Rambir at Pharmasave and Cherished Memories Funeral Services. The Family would also like to thank anyone who helped in any other way.
