Check-stop held along Highway 95A

On November 24, officers from both the Cranbrook RCMP and the BC Highway Patrol joined forces to conduct a coordinated check-stop operation along Highway 95A.

During the operation, officers completed a combined total of 87 Mandatory Alcohol Screenings (MAS).

Enforcement outcomes included:

One 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP).
One arrest of a prohibited driver.
One 24-hour driving suspension.

With holiday gatherings, travel, and celebrations approaching, police are reminding the public to plan ahead, arrange a safe ride, and make responsible choices.

Drivers can expect to see additional targeted enforcement throughout December as part of ongoing holiday safety initiatives.
