Griz Days 2026 schedule released
Griz Days 2026 will electrify Fernie March 6 to 8 with a plethora of things to see and do for folks of all ages.
Organizers today (Feb. 20) announced the full event schedule is now available for perusal.
Highlights include the annual Griz Days Parade (pictured above) taking place downtown at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6 and the Extreme Griz Competition beginning at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at city hall and running until 5:30 p.m. when the victor is crowned at Station Square.

Extreme Griz features competitors taking on a variety of wild and wacky challenges to battle it out for the ultimate title. Think pancake-eating showdowns, keg and caber tosses, and a whole lot of extreme, unexpected challenges designed to test strength, stamina, and pure Griz spirit.
It’s wild. It’s chaotic. It’s a little bit ridiculous – in the best possible way.
Saturday kicks off at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Seniors’ Centre.
The event-packed weekend will also feature live music in downtown pubs and in Station Square on Saturday, with fireworks scheduled to light up the night sky at 9:15 p.m.
A highlight Sunday will be the Raging Elk Dummy Downhill at Fernie Alpine Resort, beginning at 1 p.m. and running until about 4 p.m.
