Golden-Field RCMP launches enforcement campaign
This month, Golden-Field RCMP is joining the B.C. traffic enforcement campaign targeting distracted driving and seat belt violations. Officers will be conducting dedicated patrols throughout the month to reduce high‑risk behaviours and improve road safety for all users.
Golden-Field RCMP is reminding drivers that distracted driving and failing to wear a seat belt remain leading contributors to serious collisions on B.C. roadways. Throughout the month, officers will be increasing patrols in high‑traffic areas, school zones, and along major routes in and out of the community.
“Distracted driving and not wearing a seat belt are choices that can have devastating and completely preventable consequences,” said Golden-Field RCMP Detachment Commander Mitch Mercier.
“Our officers will be out all month watching for these violations, because keeping people safe on our roads is one of our highest priorities. We’re asking drivers to make safe decisions every time they get behind the wheel.”
Police are reminding drivers that using electronic devices while driving carries significant fines and penalties, and that seat belts must be worn properly by all occupants at all times. Golden-Field RCMP encourages the public to do their part by staying focused, buckling up, and helping keep local roads safe.
Anyone who witnesses dangerous driving or has concerns related to traffic safety is encouraged to contact Golden-Field RCMP.
