Nitro’s blueliner a KIJHL Star of the Week
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Stars of the Week for the period ending March 29.
Defence – Jackson Murphy – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Calgary native had two game-winners and two assists in three games, helping the Dynamiters defeat the Fernie Ghostriders in five games. Murphy played an average of 26:16 a game and was +3.
Forward – Bryton Morrow – Princeton Posse
The Ardrossan, Alta., native scored twice and collected six assists for eight points in four games in their defeat of the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the second round. His week was highlighted by a goal and five-point performance in their 9-0 series clinching win in Game 6. Morrow played an average of 22:10 a game and had a +9 rating.
Goalie – Jaxson Dikur – Williams Lake Mustangs
The local product was excellent between the pipes helping his team sweep the Kamloops Storm. Dikur won twice, stopping 63 of 65 shots, including a 26-save shutout performance in Game 4 – a 4-0 final. Dikur posted a 1.00 goals against average and a .969 save percentage.
