Heavy snow expected for Crowsnest Pass
Environment Canada is alerting nearby Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, about heavy snow expected tonight, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm.
“Rain will change to snow this evening and continue through the night. Snow will taper off on Thursday. Visibility will likely be reduced at times,” Environment Canada stated.
The Elk Valley is not under a snowfall warning but rain showers could change to flurries overnight, with the risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. Wind north 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low zero.
Environment Canada’s forecast for Kootenay National Park: Snow level 1,500 metres lowering to valley bottom this evening. Snowfall amount two to four cm. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 2. Wind chill minus 8 overnight.
