Check stop conducted with Police Dog Services
On April 23, Elk Valley RCMP frontline officers along with BC Highway Patrol officers and Police Dog Services conducted a check stop in Elkford on Fording River Road.
Over 230 drivers were checked for sobriety through the use of approved screening devices with all drivers confirmed to be sober.
Police were checking for sobriety as well as for any open liquor in the vehicles.
The project is one of the many ways that the RCMP is seeking to pursue safer roads in our communities.
The project’s success was made possible through partnership with BC Highway Patrol, Police Dog Services, and the Elk Valley RCMP detachment officers.
