KIJHL announces its April Stars
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Stars of the Month for April.
Goalie/Rookie – Adam Kisilevich – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Edmonton native won eight of 11 games as he saved 318 of 341 shots for a 2.02 goals against average with a .933 save percentage in 685 minutes of action. Kisilevich allowed nine goals in their sweep of the Nitehawks, then 14 in their seven-game win against the Posse in the KIJHL Cup Final.
Kisilevich finished the KIJHL Championship with 15 wins with a 1.67 GAA and a .939 SP. and was named the Most Valuable Player of the KIJHL Championship. It’s the second straight month that Kisilevich was chosen as the Rookie of the Month.
Forward – Justice Loewen – Princeton Posse
The Calgary native helped the Posse reach the KIJHL Cup Final with a five-goal, 11-point month, was solid defensively with a +7 rating playing an average of 21:18 a game. Loewen had two goals and five points in their sweep of the Williams Lake Mustangs, then netted a hat-trick and four points in Game 5 and finished with six points in their seven-game loss to the Kimberley Dynamiters.
Loewen led the KIJHL Championship with 33 points in 24 games.
Defenceman – Jackson Murphy – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Calgary native had a goal and eight points in 11 games, was +7 while playing an average of 21:46 a game. Murphy had a goal and three points in their sweep of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. In the KIJHL Cup Final, the 5-10, 174-pound blueliner collected five assists against the Posse. It’s the second straight month that Murphy was chosen as the Top Defenceman for the month.
