We’re thrilled to share that the Elko Parks and Recreation recreation space is officially moving ahead!

Excavation is set to begin the last week of May beside the Elko Community Hall, with installation taking place throughout the month of June. If all goes according to plan, we’re excited to welcome the community to the grand opening in mid-July.

This project has been an incredible example of what can happen when a community comes together, and it’s amazing to finally see the vision becoming reality. In just a couple of short months, families, children, and community members will have a brand new recreation space (including a playground and multi-use pad for basketball, pickleball and floor hockey).

We’ll be reaching out to the community members who purchased benches as part of the project soon — thank you for helping leave a lasting mark on this space.

As we head into the final stretch, we still have a few fundraising efforts underway to help us reach the finish line. Our bottle drive is ongoing, and we’ll also be hosting another walk/bike-a-thon, with details to be announced soon.
