Free film screening at COTR June 10
Join the East Kootenay Zonal Immigration Partnership, College of the Rockies (COTR), and Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) on Wednesday, June 10 for a screening of ‘Outsiderness’ by Nelson filmmaker, Carlo Alcos.
This powerful film explores themes of identity and belonging from the perspective of a second-generation Filipino Canadian whose parents immigrated to B.C. in the early ’70s. In the film, Carlo uncovers what he has sacrificed through adapting and conforming and tries to discover what true belonging means.
The screening will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in KC250 at the College of the Rockies Cranbrook Campus, 2700 College Way.
Admission is by donation at the door and seats must be reserved by email to [email protected] as space is limited.
The East Kootenay Zonal Immigration Partnership (EKZIP) is a community-driven collaboration led by CBAL and community partners—designed for the East Kootenay, by the communities involved. Together we work to improve immigrant integration and build inclusive communities across the region.
