After much planning and anticipation, the Kimberley Pipe Band is excited to announce that its 100th Anniversary Celebration and Tattoo will move to a new venue for its signature Saturday evening performance on July 24, 2027.

The change comes as the City of Kimberley prepares to begin long-awaited renovations and improvements to the Kimberley Civic Centre. While the Pipe Band fully supports these important upgrades, the construction schedule coincides with the summer of 2027, requiring organizers to seek an alternate venue for this landmark event.

Several outdoor locations in and around Kimberley were considered; however, the logistics and infrastructure requirements necessary to produce a large-scale outdoor Tattoo proved challenging. Fortunately, at just the right time, the owners of the Cranbrook Bucks Hockey Club stepped forward and offered the Western Financial Place as an alternative venue.

Although there was some initial disappointment that the Tattoo could not be held in Kimberley, the organizing committee has been delighted by the opportunities created through this new partnership.

“Working with the Bucks ownership has been a real pleasure,” said organizers. “Their support has opened up exciting new possibilities for the event and will help us create an unforgettable experience for performers and spectators alike.”

As a result, the Saturday evening 100th Anniversary Tattoo – Kimberley Pipe Band will be held at Western Financial Place in Cranbrook on July 24, 2027.

Kimberley, however, will remain at the heart of the celebration. Many anniversary activities, including the parade, “Taste of the Tattoo” performances, and a variety of community events, will take place throughout Kimberley during the celebration weekend.

The organizing committee is currently developing a full schedule of events and looks forward to sharing additional details in the coming months.

The Kimberley Pipe Band invites all supporters, alumni, and friends of the band to embrace this exciting venue change and join in celebrating a century of music, tradition, and community service.

Tickets for the Saturday evening Tattoo will go on sale in September 2026.
