New council sworn in during ceremony at City Hall
An almost fresh slate of City of Cranbrook municipal leaders was sworn-in during a ceremony at Cranbrook City Hall Oct. 27.
Ten days after the 2026 Municipal Election, newly elected Mayor Tom Shypitka and six new councillors took their oath of office and were officially sworn in by Honourable Provincial Court Judge Mandy Klein.
Councillor Wayne Price, who opted to run as a councillor instead of mayor again, is the lone returning member of the previous council.
He is joined by Robin Goldsbury, Joe McGowan, Ron Miles, Bruce Murdoch and Shaun Penner.
