The District of Elkford is currently experiencing an emergency water restriction due to a mechanical failure in the water system, as well as a Boil Water Notice.

A water pump failure has reduced the available water supply. Crews are actively working to restore normal service; however, the timeline for repairs is not yet known.

All residents throughout the District of Elkford are asked to immediately discontinue the use of sprinklers and irrigation systems to help preserve the available water supply.

Residents within the highlighted impacted area (below) are also asked to avoid laundry, showers, and other non-essential water use in order to maintain reservoir levels.

Should water service be completely interrupted, additional information and instructions will be provided.

The next status update is expected by this morning (June 17).
