GADSAR rescue injured hiker in Bugaboos

On June 14, Golden and District Search and Rescue (GADSAR) was tasked to a call in the Bugaboos for a 30-year-old female hiker who fell descending the trail below the Kain Hut.

She slipped in snow and slid 10-15 metres and hit her head and shoulder on rocks causing a severe laceration to her head and pain in her shoulder.

GADSAR slung in with two techs and flew the woman and her partner back to the Kain Hut where everyone was loaded into the heli and continued to Invermere to meet BC Emergency Health Services who transported the subject to Invermere and District Hospital.

Big thanks to Alpine Helicopters Inc. for getting us in and out safely.

Something to note is that there is still lots of snow in the Alpine so please be prepared when you are adventuring out there*
